1 Day Bali Sports Bike
In conjunction with Motoworld Bali we take you on an awe inspiring tropical ride throughout the "Island of the Gods" on some of the world's most passionate sports bikes. We get to travel on open highways, coastal twisty roads, mountain pistes all the while absorbing the beautiful land and the people that make Bali a destination that cannot be seen in only one journey.
Our day departs from Denpasar at MotoWorld Bali where you'll have ample time to check out the exotic bikes available to buy. A short rider briefing will provide a hint of our action packed day, enough to whet the appetite to get on and go!
We soon escape Denpasar and open onto Bali's best highway to sneak views of unspoiled beaches and world renowned rice fields on our way to Klunkung then inland to the region of Sidema. Here the road narrows and trees provide a speckled canopy in between local villages. We spend some taking in the village atmosphere of Sibetan and try the local sweet produce this place is renowned for. The road gets more technical and even less traffic; a perfect section to get the heart rate up. After our next town; Karangasem we pass the Royal palace of Tirta Gangga , a one hectare complex of lush gardens with many pools, waterfalls and statues. Opulently constructed in 1948 by the Raja of Karangasem but mostly destroyed in the 1963 eruption of Mt Agung. The local community have since reconstructed the site to its formal regal beauty and well worth adding this as a separate trip in itself.
Our lunch break is at Kubu Resort Tulamben, a northern beach region which is a favourite of ours. Another chance to learn a little more about Bali and the world renowned dive site of the ill-fated USAT Liberty, torpedoed by the Japanese in 1942 which met its final demise from Mt Agung's fury in 1963.
With energy levels fuelled, we take on the mountain road up to an amazing vista at Kintamani for a must stop break to take in the sights of Mt Batur, black lava (our dirt bike haven and offered on other package tours), lake Batur and if still hungry, try a pisang goreng with some tea or coffee.
It's all downhill from here (literally, not figuratively!) as we ride some gentler slopes until we end up in Ubud. Depending on how our schedule runs, we may call in to see the Ubud Royal Palace after most of the tour buses have left and before the evening dance performances, for a less frenetic discovery of some early 1800's Balinese architecture and custom. Our journey ends 3km further south at Moto Explore's office where we can have a final discussion and bid adieu to new friends before our transfers return you to your point of pick-up. For those wanting to stay on to see the evening dance performances, we can delay transfers to suit your preference and if you had left anything back at Motoworld, they can also take you there on the way home.
